A standard PC is used to program and control all the lights that are part of a light show. The PC programs a grid that is similar to a motion picture where frames advance from one to the next to create changes. Each grid has a song assigned to it. As the grid runs the lights respond to the commands just like the movie uses frames. Each light can have special effects such as dimming, fading and shimmering. An optional "Brain" with a music player is available and is capable of storing and executing the program created by the PC in a stand alone mode so the PC does not need to be left to run the show.

Animation panels are installed which have the ability to decipher the commands from the lighting grid created by the PC. These commands are sent to individual channels (think of a channel as one extension cord going out to one or more lights that all are controlled together).

The artistic part is what makes it all come together. Manually (i.e.- programming every beat and every frame), music is synchronized frame by frame with lighting effects that create a lighting grid. This programming and artistic visualization takes a while to do but it is what makes a unique look.

MagicLights does not use kits or pre-configured shows for our commercial installations. We custom design the light shows to fit the architecture, audience , lights sculptures and the goals of our customers.

Lights shows can be elaborate such as our 25,000 light display at Memorial City Mall or a small show such as our Seven Foot 4 Color tree. Call us with your ideas and goals! We engineer Art!
